Publishing iOS app for testing

I am sure there are good directions for this somewhere, but I can't seem to find them. I have created a game using a template and am ready to create the iOS files. I have been trying all evening to get all the certificates and provisioning profiles I need, but am still having problems. Are there detailed directions somewhere on exactly what I need to do to create the file I can install on my phone to test.
Thanks so much,
Dave

Where are you specifically having problems? How far are you making it through the process? If you provide a little more information I may be able to help.

Gannuscio - I followed the directions and added a little bit that I know from a different app making software when the Cookbook was vague or different from what Apple currently looks like. When I am signing the app with my Ad Hoc provisioning certificate, I get the message "Could not code sign because there is no developer identity matching the selected provisioning profile." I believe I have followed all the steps, but don't know how to attach the identity to the ad hoc file.

I am going to close this question for now, but will probably be back when it comes time to publish . . . lol
