Layer Order

Is there any way I can change the layer order within the game? I know there is the layer order tab to adjust the layers manually but is there a way I can do it while the game is running?

Thanks,
Tad

you can right click on actors and click on send to front/back or send forward/backward which changes their position in the layers if that's what you're asking

Having trouble with your game? Sounds like a personal problem.

No you can't, but you can simulate a layer change by having two identical actors (following the same rules) but on different layers, keep one invisible (alpha set to 0) while the other is visible (alpha set to 1) - when you want your actor to change layer (or appear to do so) simply swap their alpha values.

@ADSentertainment No I meant is there some action or behavior or trick where I can tell the object to come to the front like when touch is pressed or something.

Thanks for reply guys haha but that's not what I meant :O I know how to do that already. I'm not even sure if it's possible but I wanted to be sure. Can you tell an object within a rule or behavior to change layers?

oh! yeah, what socks said, I don't think that's possible, but It'd be a very useful thing to have.

Hopefully, if dynamic layer controls like that were implemented it would open up all kinds of possibilities.
