Help needed with rotating actors.

Hello all,
I'm pretty new to Gamesalad and am currently enjoying working through loads of the tutorials however I'm having a bit of difficulty making my actor behave and rotate in the way I want.
Basically I have a bird character that when the up key is tapped he flaps his wings and fly's up and forward at an angle, which is fine and i'm having lots of fun experimenting with all of the physics parameters. However when the up key is released I would like my character to rotate around a point in front of him in order to create a swooping effect.
I've made a diagram here:

Which explains a lot clearer, what it is I'm attempting.
If any of you can help me with how to go about it, or even point me in the right direction of some good tutorials that would cover the information I would need to know, I'd be most appreciative.
Also I have a background in music production and 2d animation so if anyone needs any advice on recording their own tracks or some animation pointers feel free to send me a message.
Many Thanks.
