Advice on 0 sales for the last 7 days

Hi

When i released my game back in December 2012, i was happy as i was getting an average of 40 sold a week but now its gone to 0. I think its selling 0 as its not in the recently added section. I have also realised that marketing is important.

Can anyone provide some tips in how to get my app noticed?

I always thought that a good game advertises itself, I am still proud of my first game, as its taught me a wealth of knowledge in game creation and i shall not get upset. Just need to carry on and hopefully get a hit with my next game.

Stick adverts in and set it free, then at least you'll get some revenue.

Setting it free and then back to paid every now and then will get you app a small amount of marketing from free release sites. Whats the game?

Another thing you can try is to increase the price for a day, and then decrease it the next day. Price reduction sites will cath on and show your app. This might not show a major increase, but it might help. But as @IcedB said, free with adds might be the best option for now.

You could always Improve it and submit and update… I know its crazy to think you have to continually update and support your app, but… Its a novel idea that people seem to forget about these days.

Keep making new games...most fall to zero at some point

So I had a friend who made an game for android. It was getting about 10 paid downloads a week for about six weeks before it dropped to zero or one a week. So for anyone this was bad. He got about 11 one star ratings out of the 60 or so downloads.

But it was his first game and he needed it to work as he was in university (collage in some countries refer it too) and need some extra cash.

He came up with a major update, fixed and mended the problems they reported and added more content.

His sales rose to 4 downloads a day before it dropped back to zero after a few weeks.

But then he changed it came up with a marketing campaign within the app itself to get people talking and sharing such as hidden items and short cuts and cheats. This update was also updated with a new content and upgraded graphics and game play.
Sales rose to 150 a day after a few days. It stays like that for a while and goes up and down but I think that's his average which is pretty good.

But point is that you gotta listen to the feedback and keep upgrading making it better. It gets people talking ect. Don't give up without a fight.

    All the best

Marketing is key for every product even name brands. Why do you think coke spends millions every year on ads? Because you need to keep your brand in people's mind. Marketing is even more work than making a game. Making a game and then expecting sales based on the fact you made a game is foolish.. There is this thing called competition and you need to work harder than your competition period. Gamesalad can help you make a game but not a brand or business.
