Apple has announced the following:

Game Center
The iPhone OS 4 beta software and SDK includes a developer preview of the GameKit APIs that allows you to create apps that will work with Game Center, Apple's new social gaming network. Your users can invite friends to play a game, start a multiplayer game through matchmaking, track their achievements, and compare their high scores on a leader board. The APIs are available to you now and Game Center will be available to iPhone and iPod touch users later this year.

Heck, I'm just waiting for GS to access the internet, microphone, camera, compass, and GPS first, and those have been around for some time already!

hmmmmm, sounds to me that some of those features you mentioned Beyond the Tech may make it to the Pro version only!

Maybe GameSalad knows more about the iPhone OS than they've been sharing with us. Isn't it strange how there's no Multiplayer support or Advertisement support in GameSalad?

Now, Gendai Games has a perfect way to add both of those features.. just support the additions Apple is planning to release later this year... multiplayer and advertisements... wow... I can almost smell the profit.

I'd love to know this too. I'm only a newbie to GS looking at the different options for development, but I think Gendai need to commit to supporting Game Center 100%.

I see a future in the appstore where anything not supporting at least achievements will be seriously disadvantaged. :( Supporting the matchmaking/invites system would be a godsend too. The lack of information and uncertainty in the dev scene at the moment is really stressful!

I just did a test where I built the 0.8.5 GS Viewer as a 3.1.3 app, and tested the fast app switching in iPhone OS 4. As I suspected it would, the viewer started from scratch when switched back to from another app. Then I built it again for 4.0, and now the viewer behaves correctly, when you try to switch to another app, the game you are testing pauses. When you come back, the game carries on exactly where it left off.
