Joystick Question

Ok Im pretty sure that since day 1 of GS Creators release. There have been 1 million different demos and templates out there claiming to be one hell of a Joystick. Where can I find the best Joystick? 8 Directions with smooth movement from each change in movement. Preferably coded for ipad.

Im shocked out of all the stuff on the Marketplace for sale........ there isn't a joystick template.

    But its still a lil choppy. Is a 16 directional controller possible?

    I did the math based on how the 8 directional was made. Here is the example

    Ok above I have the math all laid out. And ready to go. But I also noticed in this template that there are 5 actors. Touch 1-5. Inside is the code for something. and this part the template has me stumped. What is the purpose these 5 actors?
    I realized they had to be places on the scene out of the way. What are their purpose? Do more need to be made, if Im going on to a 16 button controller?
