Done with my game finally and I was uploading the binary to apple when it gave me this message "There was a general I/O error while processing your Application assets. Please contact iTunes Connect Support at itunesconnect@apple.com. " My question to you guys is what did I do wrong???

I'm about to contact apple but was wondering if theirs a quick way around it before I have to wait for a 6 day response (:

Thanks

What did you do leading up to the issue?
  • BreezeonholdBreezeonhold Member Posts: 187
I first Published my game on the ipod from GS... Then went to the gamesalad.com and downloaded my project from "manage portfolio". I then Changed the filed to an app, then compressed it. Tried to upload it to apple and didn't work.

Hopefully you can help me with my problem. I could be doing this all wrong!

    Thanks

Why did you have to go to the site to download it, didn't it send back the file after publishing in gamesalad? Also don't change the file name, just zip what gamesalad sends back and try submiting that. Good luck!

Do you have the proper code sign elements?

That won't work, you need to run through the process again. That's a left over from an older system. Sorry for the confusion.

Where are the steps for this process on GS? They really need to make a video tutorial for this (:

I just got this message once publishing compressing it... Like "crazybreadman" said to do.

"The binary you uploaded was invalid. The signature was invalid, or it was not signed with an Apple submission certificate."

If you have the certificates and everything done on the apple dev site all you have to do is publish your game inside of gamesalad and zip the file it sends back to you.

EDIT: Do you have the distribution certificate? You may just have the dev one.

Yeah I think I did one of the certificates wrong, should be an easy fix...

You have to create a distribution profile to submit to the app store. If you have the dev profile make sure you create everything specifically for the distribution profile. Don't mix certificates and make sure you select your distribution profile when publishing in gamesalad.

Crap I forgot how to even use these certificates. Where do I put the distribution certificate at, and will I be publishing my game with this certificate I'm guessing? Sorry for the stupid questions...

Get two certificates. One for development, so you can be sure your app works. The other is for distribution. Make sure both of them are in the XCode Organizer, and select the "Distribution one" when you are ready to publish... Wait a few minutes and send that to ITC.

    Make sure you compress it...

I'm assuming you've been looking through these? Everything is in here. http://gamesalad.com/wiki/developing_for_iphone
You drag the certificate into itunes. Make sure you stick to your distribution profile for all of the steps. I remember doing it the first time and it was confusing at first.
