How to make an attack with the player of a platform game

Hello I have a problem for create the attack animation of my actor on my platform game if someone could explain to me how to do it because I have no idea I searched for 2 days now and nothing.My actor can move left,right and jump but I tried to create attribute and everything but nothing happened.
