Need HELP with publishing to apple...

Hey all I'm just about to publish my game to the apple app store, but I've got a few questions that you can hopefully help me out with.
1.) I've been using a distribution provisional profile to publish my game via ad hoc. Can I just convert this same file to APP STORE? If so, what are the next steps I have to do with it.
2.) Where do you indicate which devices are compatible with your game? My game will not run on anything below an iphone 4, so I want to make sure I let apple know about this.
3.) As far as giving a release date, how do I know what the release date is when apple hasn't even reviewed it yet?
4.) My game is made for iphone 4 but obviously runs on iphone 5 (but will run with letterboxed sides). Do I have to provide both iphone 4 and iphone 5 screenshots for this?
A million thanks! Almost there with a little bit of your help!
Thanks

RP Posts: 1,9901. You cannot publish your adhoc version. You will need to publish it via GS, and submit that .app file via the application loader.
2. Under the advanced GS publishing settings, you should already be set for supporting ARM7 devices only (what is still supported by Apple). When you submit your app via iTunes connect, there is an area for special notes to Apple. You can address what devices you want to strictly support there. Also, add the list of your approved compatible devices in the product description.
3. You can specify a future release date in iTunes connect.
4. One set of screen shots is fine. If your app is not optimized for the iPhone 5 resolution, there is no need to include those screenshots. Add to your notes to Apple that the app is not optimized for iPhone, thus those screens are not included. It may help prevent you getting a email from an non-observant reviewer stating you need to include them. -

@RP thank you!!!!
1. Yes, you can change an ad hoc profile to a store profile within iTunes Connect. Just change it over. Then refresh the page and download the modified profile. And I agree this is the easiest way to do things.
About question 1, my question is, can i just use the same provisional profile i've been handing out as an adhoc- BUT this time click APP STORE on it. Or do i have to make a completely new profile? This is the part i'm most confused about because i don't know if it will interfere with anything like my gamecenter setup etc.
about question 3- what if i specify a future date and it turns out they're still reviewing it? I guess i'm not getting how this works?
Thank you!
3. Just set the date waaay ahead in the future. You can always change it again later. Most peeps who write PR advice say you should leave yourself a month to start promoting your game pre-release anyway.
4. If your game is letterboxed it *is* optimised for iphone 5. So yes, you should include both sets of screenshots. It's fine to make a set of iphone 5 sized screenshots with black borders.
EDIT: But as we have access to universal binaries now - you may as well do that? Apple like games that use a universal binary. Also it's easier than managing 2 iOS versions.

HoneyTribeStudios Posts: 1,792@RP As far as I understand it 'optimised for iphone has more to do with what is going on 'under the hood'.
So a game I submitted that is cropped with both sets of screenshots added is described as 'optimised for iphone 5' in the app store. That's on the left side of the page where all the devices the game can play on are listed.
Now that we have automatic iphone 5 support with GS 0.10.1 if you don't submit both sets of images, iphone 5 and iphone 4 - you get error messages in iTunes connect.

Hold on a sec, optimized means it is structured to natively support the device (taking advantage of the screen size). It does not support the format of the device, thus it is NOT optimized.
Also, from what I am seeing and hearing from other discussions (outside GS), iphone 5 formatted screenies are not needed, but it won't hurt to send them black bars and all.

Never attempted publishing a Adhoc version this way. Only a dedicated version for the App Store. Kept the Adhocs purely for testing. What @HoneyTribeStudios mentions above makes sense so, should work okeydokie

Now heres the million dollar question (virtual dollars of course
Can you release a universal app IF the iphone 5 version is cropped?
Jeopardy music.
Some would say that is the best option to preserve the quality of your graphics. (Although personally I'm fine with auto stretching).
Yeah, I've been hearing about those error messages. Ugh. Freak'n screen shapes. Next we'll get a round iPhone screen.
