GameSalad run-time requirements...

Hi all,

Here's a newbie question for you..

My son and I are looking at GS for use in a middle school competition. The work will be done entirely by the students and they will take a game they created to a regional competition. The requirement is that the game run entirely off of CD/DVD without having to install anything.

My question is - is this possible with Game Salad ? When we installed the demo, lots of things were loaded/installed. This is ok for development, but won't be ok for the competition.

Thanks !!

Yes, I believe it should work for you.

Make it as a Mac App and put it onto the DVD for the competition.
    That should work.

    Sincerely,

  • Thanks for the info. This has to be run on a Windows machine. The students are allowed to submit a CD/DVD and it can't modify the judges' computer. It has to run directly off the disk.

The only GS game type that can be run on Windows (that I know of) is the appx format for Windows 8. That requires a dev license, app signing, and installing, so definitely not a "run off disk" kind of thing.
