Gamesalad Viewer

I am experiencing a very frustrating issue with the gamesalad viewer. When I press build and run on the xcode project the gamesalad logo launches on my connected device. But, when I open up gamesalad and try to test a project on my device, there is no such button next to the preview button that ever shows up. Why is this? Any suggestions on what I should double check?

    make sure the internet connection on your device matches that on your computer
