How do you make a trailer for your game?

Do you just use the GS preview and screencast it or is there other software that will do it? I ask because my macbook pro wont run my game in preview without skipping a bunch so recording it on here wont work.

Do you have the android SDK installed? There was a post a while back about that causing all the skipping and stuttering on a mac. The workaround was create a second user account on your mac and run it from that account without the Android stuff installed and it would work. I'll look for that post real quick.

But yes normally people just screen record from their machine. the only other option is a jail broke device can get a cydia app that does screen recording.

    here you go
    http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/42760/salad-solutions-audio-stuttering-in-creator-preview/p1

hopefully this is the root of your problem and you can at least get around the lag on your machine. cause in all reality if its not this, and your machine cannot handle it with a bigger processor and more RAM. How can you expect a mobile device to handle the game.

Thank you. I'm going to try that when I get the chance. I do have the android SDK installed. And yes I did think it was weird that my 2011? MB Pro with 8GB RAM couldn't handle my game but I just thought it was the graphics card or something.

Creating a new account just to be able to use preview is not an ideal workaround since gamesalad is basically always open on my computer but at least it will work for now so I can make a video.

    Thanks again tenrdrmer

I read the forum and there is an easier fix. Instead of making a new account, just go into the Android SDK folder > Platform tools and rename "adb" to something different like "xadb" also make sure GS is closed and make sure that adb is not running in activity monitor.

That fixed my problem. No more lagging! and to think I built my whole game like this and had to test it on device instead of preview every time makes me excited to start my new game.

Remember where this file is because if you want to build for Android, you will need to change the name back!
