Resolution Independence Problem

Hello!

I've got problem with preparing my graphics for retina display.

As I've read here and in the cookbook I've ticked the resolution independence while creating my project (iphone landspace) and after that I've uploaded an icon in the iphone 4s size (640x960, so the icon is around 70x90) and as you might see from the screenshot here is is definitly too big.

How to fix that?

Hi @patrykadas If you've checked Resolution Independence, every graphic you bring in should be twice the width and height (4 times the size) that you want it to show on-screen.

So for your icon, if you want it to show as 70 x 90, then you should make it 140 x 180. Also make sure all images/graphics are set to 72ppi; and each dimension is exactly divisible by 4.

    Hello gyroscope,

I know that. I've got my icon set to 70x90 and as you might see from the screen it 70x90, but for old iphone's resolution.

I want my icon to be 35x45.

Please, here this is the real size of the icon on the screen, when I put the same file in the gamesalad and the resolution independence is checked the very same icon looks like that:

OK, I see (didn't know what you knew and what you didn't!)

Firstly then, neither 70 or 90 can be divided by 4, so I'd suggest making this doubled size of 72 x 92, for the icon to appear as 36 x 46. (Just make extra transparent background to make up the size if you like).

So if your icon is not halving in size when it's brought into GSC, check that it's no more or less than 72ppi. If that's OK, then perhaps you've replaced an image, or dragged the image onto a blank actor? Bring the image into the Library and drag it out fresh, it should be the right size then.

Still not working. Thank you for your help anyway! :)

I really don't like the Windows version. There are quite many bugs.

The image size may be right, but did you change the size of the actor? Actor size is independent of the image associated with it.
