Is Dynamic Split-Screen possible with GameSalad?

[Start watching this vdeo from 0:35]

I was toying with an idea for a game, where it'd be Co-op two-player on the same iPad, where the map would be huge, and both players could explore the map on their own, and have a split-screen similar to the video above!

***Now I understand that that split-screen is overly complex as it turns and joins back, and then separates.
I was thinking if it was possible to separate iPad Portrait into a top half and bottom half, and let each player wander in their given area (without the complex turning of the boundary, and frequent conjoins and separations)

Anybody have any ideas on how this can be done, if at all?

I thought about it for a while, but still no luck.
Maybe one of the GameSalad Wizards can help, or give me a push in the right direction :p

Thanks in advance,
Chakku

Why wouldn't it be possible? You just have to make sure that you account for actions within one "screen" to affect/be visible on the other "screen."

Ah yes, but there is only one screen. If Player 2 goes to Player 1, then they should be able to see each other on their screens.
How would you make the camera follow two different players if they're headed in opposite directions?

The way I see it, it's as if you had 2 screens, and 2 cameras. You'd have to use two 'Control Camera' behaviors, one on each actor, so that the game would show where each actor was going on their screens.

Now obviously it isn't possible to have 2 different cameras, but I'm trying to find a way to manipulate the effect of two camera on two screens.

    Thanks for the input,

The reason I put "screen" in quotes was to imply that each is a separate split-screen area. If something happens in one half of the scene, you have to code it so that the other half of the scene sees that action.

But how would you get that 'Control Camera'-effect where each player is able to go in opposite directions, and the camera would track them as if they're "screen" was the device's screen?

    Thanks for your input,

Move the ground not the players.

Obviously I wouldn't use the camera, as there's only one camera and two players ;) I'm just looking for the same effect

I'm not understanding how moving the ground will help since my ground is homogeneous, could you please clarify?

@tatiang @GS_Master- Thanks guys for your imput. I'll put up a quick video showing you what I mean (it's 12:46 AM here in New England :p )

    Thanks again

Instead of moving the player the ground moves under the player causing the illusion of movement.
What I'm Saying is don't use the control camera feature when the players are moving move the ground underneath so it looks like they're moving.

Also have it when the objects on the right side of the screen pass half way destroy them.

Oh, I think I see what you're saying. I'm not sure if it will work with my current ground image, but I'll give it a try tomorrow, and post a video to this thread.

    Thanks

Still one question remains un-ansered , How does the animation of the "other " player going to appear on the other side of the screen. I think a camera two might be nice.
