FreeAppADay.com - anyone used this?

I got an email through toucharcade from FreeAppADay.com and then they contacted GS directly about my new game XMB.
Has anyone used this site for promotion? The idea is you give your app away for 1 day and this site supposedly promotes your app leading up to and on that day. They claim it will increase sales after the free day. Lately I haven been making around $30 a day - should I give up $30 for this promotional opportunity?
What do you guys think? Any feedback would be helpful.
Thanks!

Now I recommend this game to anyone and have made people purchase the title. I say go for it for a day and get the exposure. If you have a great game on the app store, it may just help you out a lot.
Please keep us updated.
I would do it. It will definitely hurt your ratings, but freeappaday is very successful for apps at times. You may want to look around on touch arcade forums, as it's a common topic of discussion.
They had a special half price offer of 600$ per app for that week only.
Now it is back up to 1200$ I believe.
They advise that you should make your game free for at least a week (in case a user missed it on the actual day...)
They "advertise" your game on their site for a month.
Some of the Apps that they feature do rocket back up the lists for a "second life" if you will.
$1200/ month sounds like a lot, but it actually just 40$/day.
@Scitunes: So basically you're giving up your 30$ a day profit for the chance of making several thousands of dollars.
You're pretty much hoping that by spending 40$ a day, you can make 100$ a day.
It is certainly possible. Since they contacted me, I watched their site and did see a few of the games they featured shoot back up for a bit.
In the end I decided against it.
$1200 (plus a lost week of income) seemed like to much to gamble with at the time. Even though it isn't a ton of money, I could use that to buy another laptop, 2 iPads, or another 30inch monitor...
Who knows, I might try it in the future.
If you do decide to do it, let us know how it goes! It would be nice to get a detailed review from someone in this community about how well it did/didn't work!
Sounds great! Let us know how it goes!
