Iphone App Development and Download

When creating your app, as part of the publishing process for the mac, once the app is generated there is a download app button so you don't have to sign your app to run it on your home computer. Can this same feature not be added to iOS applications? I have created an app and only wish to run it on my iPhone but I can't because I don't have a provisioning account!

Nope ... To make an ad-hoc for iPhone you have to have a development profile/certificate installed on the device

Is this still the case for jailbroken devices?

I would imagine so .. The 'illegal' games you would be putting on a jailbroken phone have originally had a certificate .. A game, whether adhoc or for release on store, must have a certificate!

But surely once you have the ipa file you can crack it in whatever way the illegal apps are cracked to bypass whatever it is it bypasses? I dunno I have no clue how that stuff works but I just feel apple should add support for unsigned apps on your own device through a manual install

I see a pattern here @cracky6711, bypassing, jail braking! ;)

lol nah I just think it's ridiculous that you can't use an app which you created for personal use without paying apple $99. As for jailbreaking, its brilliant. A lot of the stuff apple put in ios 6 came from jailbreaking tweaks but the level of customizability for me is just brilliant. Especially with the addition of intelliscreenx, I can't live without it

Am I allowed to just give my app to someone else to sign and publish to the app store where we share the profit? That's effectively just a partnership business when I make the apps and the other person deals with sales so surely that's allowed?
