Greetings Gang,
Just wanted to throw a quick hello down now that we've decided to leave our Panda jungle and crash the forums with you fine developers. My name is Michael Ireland. I'm the Creative Director of Depressed Panda Studios. I'm a former gaming magazine owner. You may or may not have heard of it. Xbox Buyers Guide. We were distributed through out 14 states mostly in the South East United States. We then converted to digital and was available world-wide. Well, one of the bigger guys offered a silly sack of cash for us to get out of the business so we did. I used that money to start this studio!
We're located in rainy Seattle for now but may be relocating to NJ in the future.
We use GameSalad exclusively... for now. We love the tool and love pushing it to it's absolute limit.
As for our future plans, we plan on frequenting these forums daily, helping other developers, and contributing to the future of GameSalad anyway we can.
Some of our immediate plans...
- Free Code Friday. Every Friday we release something fun we've been working on through the week. This starts this friday and it'll most likely be the Legend of Zelda-like boomerang we've been working on.
- Templates. We understand some developers don't have the time or knowledge to start a full fledged game from scratch. We'll be creating and releasing our templates for reasonable prices. Our first two templates are already passed the 60% completion mark. Hint: One if a Pokemon template, the other? Legend of Zelda (NES). We've bought templates, some great, some not. We HATE buying templates to mess with and their coded jumbled messes with no documentation. My personal promise to you is that our templates will be clean, thought out, and noted EVERYWHERE. Changes can be made easily and everything will easily be documented. Also, we update our templates constantly and if you purchase one of our templates, you get free updates for life.
- Tutorial Videos. @TShirtBooth and @DeepBlueApps does a spectacular job in this field. We don't want to compete with those fine lads, we want to help the community WITH them!
As for our own game release, that's on the way. We're working on a completely original game titled Space Dog Squadron. More news on that soon!
I think that's it! Any questions are welcome and I look forward to speaking to you guys around the forums!

People say its one of the greatest Cities but at the same time it has the highest Suicide rate. That makes no sense.
However if you should decide to come to NJ let me know and we get together.
We'll definitely be back in NJ in late-May. It's pretty much a lock at this point.
welcome to the community.
