iPad Vs IPhone

Hello
I was thinking recently (bad habit to get in to) and I noticed a few things in the general public around me. Heaps of people like IPods touch and iPhones agreed but the amount of people paying for games or in app purchases are very small, like hardly any and these people have money. But they also have iPads, and a lot do, not as Many but most of them buy games and in app purchases which in some cases cost more than iPhone. So I think in my opinion I should start with an iPad version and see how that goes before making an iPhone or universal because maybe it's more profitable. It also gives me whole new features I had been dying to fit in the tiny screen.
Any care to add any experience or correct me from making the biggest mistake in my life. I am generally interested because I don't own any iPads but if people think it's worth it I will work to that apple store today and get one to test on ect.
Thanks

I've always began with an iPad project, and resized (and sometimes also optimized the UI) for iPhone. Not only does it give me more space to think/design the game, it's strategically a good device like you pointed out above.
And the iPhone border is tiny on my iMac 27-inch

Shadows Peak is an atmospheric psychological horror that explores the dark side of a player.
Yeah I know that they mentioned that but I may not get at much exposure but if the people who will see on iPad should be more willing to pay then iPhone users. So in a way it should be better. But that is something I will look further into.
@poisenden
The game was originally designed to play on iPhones and iPhone 5. Scaling that to fit on IPad means not having a good design that offers the best gameplay and functionality. Although universal is helpful in many ways, I don't yet see it as helpful in my case at this moment in time. The IPad also contains almost twice the amount of features compared to iPhone which is why I thought it also wouldn't work out.
So I could release two versions but for me the iPhone would feel lacking compared to iPad and I currently don't want that.
@Dazza006
Did you release an iPhone version then released the iPad version?
Thanks
