Hi, everybody, i am from Bolivia, and i am new in this, the point is that i want to know , how to create a game like donkey Kong, were your character move throw the landscape, jump , kill some alligators,etc.
I can create a landscape with adobe ilustrador, but i dont know how to use that image like a background and make my character walk throu that backgroun, i dont know if i have to buy a templare, ano if a have to buy it, i dont know witch.
please some help with this

Like @RP says, start with the cookbook, or at least keep it handy as you start your project. @SnapFireStudios is also correct in that you should begin with a simpler project, or least a single element of the game you'd like to create, such as the movement of your character, and build from there. As far as helpful resources, I'd recommend the following:
Deep Blue Apps have many templates you can use to get you started, and they're a great way to have a look at how something functions:

Another resource is this very forum! Go through the 'Working with Gamesalad' section to see how other users have resolved issues/questions they've had. Use the search bar in the top right to track down a specific problem that you might have (this has been the main way for me to look for answers).
One post on the forums that I particularly appreciate is the 'Spare Code' thread started by @Socks:
