I changed the height of my platform in my game and then the hero (character) disappeared, the new platform height is not blocking where the character should be, any ideas?

You haven't given us enough details to really help you.
Does the hero actor appear on the scene when editing it? If not, is the actor listed in Scene-->Layers-->Background (or any other layers)?
Is this happening only when Previewing the game?
Do you have any rules in that actor that change its size, its self.color.Alpha, or that Destroy it?
