According to Develop magazine (http://www.develop-online.net/news/34473/Apple-Control-freak-or-quality-catalyst?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+developmag/ifbh+(Develop)) Apple is proposing that all iPhone and iPad applications must be 'originally written' in C/C++/Objective-C, which would seem to suggest Jobs' and his team are eager to implement an ecosystem that encourages the use of native code and the Cocoa Touch API as the sole platform for App development.

No offense, but have you taken notice of the largest thread on this forum? This discussion has been going on since iPhone OS 4.0's announcement, not to mention at least 5 other threads that tried to open up about the same issue you've just mentioned now.
