Is there a good way to keep a high-quality images without background?

I want to import a actor image which have no background.
But when i save the psd to png and gif images ,i found that the image is blurred.
(i used png-128 and gif-128)
Is there a good way to keep a high-quality images without background?

what program are you using to make your images?

Under "attributes" of your actor, go to "graphics" and set the "horizontal wrap" and "vertical wrap" to "fixed".

Also, make sure your original graphics are 72 pixels per inch. Do not use .gif, GS will convert to .png anyway. You should control that yourself.
