How to stop rotation after Vector to angle cannon fires?

Aloha all,

I have a small issue when I have followed TShirt Booths cannon example. I am looking at iOS and using touch to move the cannon. I have created a simple button to change a boolean from false to true and back to false to quickly fire the ball. but as soon as I click the button to fire the cannon redirects to the direction of that blue button.

So how do I stop the rotation until the next shot and stop the cannon from moving prior to my touch on the screen....it just starts to rotate when I hit play?
