Uploading to the app store

I have finished my app and it is in the waiting for upload state. However, when I go to application uploader and try to sen off my zip file I get the following message : 'The application wrapper must end in .app' it then goes on to refer to the file's path name and then it ends with the name of the app and that '.gameproj is invalid'. How do I get round this so that I can upload my app?
Any answers greatly appreciated.

Once you publish through GameSalad it will spit out a .app file - zip that and hook that into the application loader.
