Greetings potential artists, employees, and friends! Depressed Panda Studios is looking for an artist to create the art for our next (hopefully) blockbuster game coming out for Mac, PC, iOS, and Android titled Space Dog Squadron. Without signing an NDA we can tell you it takes inspiration from the Legend of Zelda (NES) but has brand new innovative features inspired by games like Borderlands, Mass Effect, and World of Warcraft among others. Don't get me wrong, when we say inspiration it's just that. These are not clones of our favorite games from the past. This game is a fully featured original game with an original story written by an experienced and renowned comic writer, an original musical score, and gameplay that will show the masses what GameSalad is truly capable of. We'll share more information with the candidate after a non-disclosure agreement is signed.
We're looking for an artist to work on this specific game with the possibility of staying with us over the long haul. Space Dogs is a trilogy so we'd LOVE to have the same artist for all three titles. We're looking for someone with the following qualities...
- Seattle-area resident preferred but telecommuter is ABSOLUTELY considered. We want the best artist, if this person is from our area, great, but will consider everyone based on art quality, artist vision, and experience.
- Pixel artist-experience would be helpful. Right now our art-style is pixel (8-bit like) BUT we want to see the artists vision for this title. We have a vision for the graphics but are absolutely open to changing the style based on the new artists strength and vision. This is not a job where you draw what we tell you how we tell you. We want YOUR vision. This is my game, your game.... our game.
- Driven, on-time, deadline handler. Take it from experience... There is NOTHING more frustrating than working with someone who is late on every milestone. We work hard, so should you.
As for time requirements you probably shouldn't quit your full-time job yet. We're a small company. While we offer pay and a percentage of back-end sales, it most likely will not be enough to quit your job over... yet. However, we're not asking for you to work 40 hours per week, nor are we asking you to work 9-5. Work when it's convenient to you. As long as all (very reasonable) deadlines and milestones are completely we don't care when or how you work.
So! Interested? All interested parties should send me a brief bio and a link to your portfolio for further consideration. While I'll monitor this thread and answer any questions, anyone interested should email me for consideration.
