Having trouble rolling back to 0.10.0, viewer not working properly

HymloeHymloe Member Posts: 1,653
I've rolled back to 0.10.0, because it's the last version with a feature set that works with my project.

But since installing iOS Viewer 0.10.2, I then rolled back to 0.10.0 and it will not rotate to landscape mode no matter what I do.

Any ideas?

It works fine on my iPad, I reinstalled the iOS Viewer 0.10.0, and it works fine.

But on my iPod Touch 4, it will only run the game in portrait mode, from one angle.

The viewer will not rotate. It's stuck facing one way, and when the viewer is loading, it's cut off with white bars at the top and bottom.

    Very strange.

I've uninstalled it from my device, and rebuilt it from Xcode several times, but it stays the same.

Any advice? I'm at a loss.

I don't have rotation lock on.

Other apps are rotating fine, such as Notes.

But Game Salad viewer simply will not rotate! Gah.

If I just load the viewer up, and it sits there on that main screen, I cannot get it to rotate on my iPod Touch 4.

    What is wrong?

It actually won't rotate on my iPad either. It's just that, iPad starts off on Landscape by default, which is what my game is.

Whereas iPod Touch 4 starts off on Portrait by default, which is not what my game is.

Seems to be broken for me, with no way to go back to using 0.10.0, and I cannot use 0.10.2 because it breaks my project.

I'm stuck, can't get any work done. Wanting to smash everything.

Is it perhaps because I'm building the older iOS Viewer (0.10.0) in what is now a newer version of XCode that I upgraded today?

I've just tried installing 0.9.94 viewer and it has the same problem. It won't respond to any rotation of the device (even though other apps are rotating fine).

It seems weird, because in XCode, under the Targets Summary, it shows all orientations as being highlighted. So there doesn't seem to be any reason why it shouldn't work.

I've just installed the 0.10.2 viewer again, and it rotates.

What is happening? Please help me get 0.10.0 working again! Does anyone know why it doesn't rotate any more if built in XCode 4.6.1?

I'm thinking that the newer version of the viewer maybe introduces some new key or something, and it hangs around even if I delete the app, and reinstall the 0.10.0 version?

Or maybe something I can fix by tinkering in the 0.10.0 viewer project in XCode? (I'm not a programmer, so I'd have no idea where to start).

OK, I went to my old iMac with OSX 10.6.8 on it, and XCode 4.2, and I installed Game Salad iOS Viewer 0.10.0 again, and it works fine. (Must be something wrong with iOS Viewer 0.10.0 when combined with the newer SDK or newer XCode, or something, I dunno!)

So I'm going back to 0.10.0 for now.

    I'm exhausted. Nighty night.
