Is GameSalad for me?

Hi!
I was mainly looking for a HTML5 framework or program to build in-browser games in order to streamline the playtesting of some board game ideas I'm working on – and that's when I found GameSalad. Being able to produce for iOS/Android and HTML5 in the same environment sure sounds interesting. But from what I've seen GameSalad includes a lot of functions that I won't need for the games I have in mind (gravity, collision and any 'real time' effects) and I'm not sure if it supports the functions that I do need.

So before I dive deeper into this I just want to ask you all - is GameSalad a good environment to create card games or board game adaptations? I'm thinking of games that include things like card decks, modular game boards or action chits? Would you recommend using it to make an adaptation of say Blackjack, Risk or Settlers of Catan? And what about more advanced games with many different card decks such as Agricola or Twilight Imperium (if you are familiar with these games)?

Gamesalad is excellent for any type of 2D game you can imagine. However, for you the HTML5 publishing is rather limited with GS. Specifically with the screen size. Currently you are forced to use 480x320 landscape and you have to publish HTML5 games to the GS arcade (at which point you can embed the link to any other site, like facebook). I know they plan on allowing any screen sizes for HTML5 in the future I just don't know when.

For functionality GS would be great for card/board games I think.

GameSalad is a good way to go for what you want to do, however, html publishing is VERY limited. There's some weird hacks you can implement that'll allow you to alter your html output but it's no where near official or clean. Anyway, HTML output will be your biggest downfall. Check out the limitations before going going crazy.

Thanks for your comments. What about creating AI's for these games? Would it be possible to create a decent AI that can adapt to different situations and 'think' steps ahead by testing different moves? I assume not but it's worth asking.
