Large background question

I remember reading a post a while back on here by someone who had a large background image that was causing major slowdown on their device. something like 30fps difference. I also experience this problem on my 3G device. Was there a solution to this found?

Now I have a little strip of art at the bottom of the screen for the floor, a few tiny clouds to use as few pixels as possible and the sky is now just a color in the scene. Not as sexy but it does the job. Saved at least 15 FPS that way and there seems to be more cycles left for rules and such.
If my scenes weren't so rule heavy I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue.
Good luck anyway. I believe this will soon be a thing of the past as the software becomes more efficient and the devices get replaced with faster ones.
