Anyone here know how I could integrate a swinging rope in a platformer for the player to grab and swing over?

    If you're doing a PITFALL re-make, can I beta test it?!? :-)
That brings back childhood memories of the Atari 2600

Sorry I can't offer any help though on the mechanics.

chained or linked objects are not easy to do in game salad. you can do 1 or 2 or 3 linked objects with a lot of global attributes and manual computation. but beyond that it gets really tricky really fast.

ropes are a series of small chained bars.

however, old atari 2600 style "ropes" were just lines ... that would be more possible. still, when your hero touches the rope you are going to have to manually calculate his position on the rope while he swings. hope you are good at trig.

    I'm terrible at Trig :(

So do you think Gamesalad is capable of it, or too difficult?

I think I'll stick to smashing blocks, and jumping on platforms :)

Thanks Fuzzee! I wish I were working on that, but this is more of a fun and simple platformer :)
