Display Text bug

Hey all,
So this is the second time I'm posting about this issue. My post didn't get much activity the first time, but I'm pretty certain this is a serious bug so I'm trying again.

When I work in GameSalad and Preview, I use Display Text and it appears. When I publish the project and test it on a device, that same text appears but it's shifted drastically both in its position (X and Y) AND its leading (the spacing between lines).

I end up having to make adjustments to my project so that it appears to be in the totally incorrect location and several sizes too small. If I do this, I can test on my devices and see where they "really" are. This leads to painfully slow tweaking, since I need to publish and test over and over again just to make an adjustment of a few pixels.

I'm working on a Mac with the latest version of GameSalad. I've experienced this issue on a legacy iPod Touch, an iPhone 5, and my brand new iPad.

In my opnion. You will be better off doing a text image in a photoshop type program and importing your text image that way. You can also make custom fonts this way also.

In this particular case, I'm using it to display numbered statistics. Like running counts of a handful of things. Do you still think I should do that? I'm not 100% sure how, but I've seen mention of it around here so I'm sure I could find a tutorial.

I'm also pulling these stats from a few tables. I thought that was important to mention.

Thanks! I'll give it a shot

Never had this issue myself.. is it only since 10.2?

Yes, I believe so. I didn't work much with the display text before I updated, so I can't say for certain

Unfortunately, that tip doesn't apply to my situation. In addition to this issue, I'm experience difficulty when scaling my scenes to fit different devices (this is the current topic of a more active thread at the moment, so I'll leave it for there)

I'd just like @CodeWizard to be aware of what I've experienced here, as it's a bit different than the problem in that other thread

I'm experiencing nearly the same issue as Adrenaline. Really need help here!

I'm using a set of tables to hold values. I call upon the tables to display text using Display Text behavior and tableCellValue. The text is displaying correctly whenever I go to preview within the game. All is working as it should...

    Until I go to publish.

Upon publishing, the text only appears as a single character. It still appears where it should, but the text does no good whatsoever as only a single character.

I've already had to completely change my development plan with this tool thanks to arbitrary quirks within GameSalad. I thought I had this thing figured out and was pleased with my progress until this happened.

Extremely frustrated. I should be able to show my work tonight, but instead I've run into yet another GameSalad wall. Help me get over this last hurdle, please!

@EJ_LeBlanc A few questions for you:

    1. Does the Display Text work properly when you Preview on a device?
    2. What device are you testing and/or publishing on?
    3. What version of GameSalad Creator are you using?
    4. Do you have any special characters (e.g. accents) in your table cells?
    5. Have you tested it with different table data such as an integer?
    6. Can you post a link to a screenshot of your Display Text behavior expression?
