Can you make a character shoot in multiple directions...

I was wondering if this is possible...

I was going to have the character move with a thumbstick control on the left side of the screen, and on the right side, have a shoot button, and wherever the thumbstick control is pointing, with the shoot button held down, that they shoot in that direction.... OR

Have another thumbstick on the right side of the screen, and wherever that is pointed, that the character shoots in multiple directions depending on the angle of the thumbstick...

Anyone attempted this yet?

That one is easy. After making the thumbstick via the tutorial, you can get the angle. Use that angle when you are spawning and movement direction for the spawned item if you have its motion set to relative to scene.

I'm going to make a Smash TV like game now.

I know that game was awesome!
So would the first solution work having thumbstick on left side and shoot button on right?

Does this mean we're gonna' see it in the Wiki or a template? =)

    Interesting... thumbstick...

...but what if you wanted to make a gun turret?

I like the old Smash TV / Robotron controls. That would solve my problem. Yet, I was thinking of a different control scheme.

What if I wanted to control the character with the accelerometer and have a cross-hair. The character would shoot where the mouse was clicked / screen was touched. Can GameSalad detect the angle between the Crosshair and the Character?

Two thumbs on the screen at the same time - at all times - would cover too much of the 480x320 screen. Heh... and after a few minutes of gameplay, the screen would be really smudgy.

I thought one of the Macworld game contest submissions implemented this in a portrait mode, no?
