Filesize too big?

I've been trying to publish my gamesalad game, but it keeps getting timed out, I've heard that possibly the file size of it could affect it. The file size of my game Galastar is 90.3 MB. Is that a problem? I was told ( @Utveckla_Games ) that I should probably reduce the image sizes, but I'm not sure if that'll decrease the file size enough if that's the problem.

I had a problem with BOT when it hit around 100MB. I switched the large PNG images to indexed and that freed up enough space to publish the game.

I think I posted about it somewhere in here... http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/15896/game-creation-log-bot/

I think he means he converted his files to 8bit indexed within Photoshop.

If you use something like ImageAlpha you can reduce your file size with quite a bit more control than you can in Photoshop, and you can retain any alpha information your file has, even at 8bit (and lower).

you can mess around with the content package file and change all your image from .png to .jpg if you have them in jpg format. I did not find any issues after i did that. The game runs perfect in my iPad (yes it is published) and i reduced the size form 150MB to 50MB

@ADSentertainment I agree with @SaladStraightShooter but one other thing I might add is getting rid or unused sounds or trying to compress them as well. I added a single music file to my game and it added about 15 mb to the game. Thats a lot for a single file (it was uncompressed).

I don't have a large amount of sounds that are unused, but I do have images and probably a few actors that I don't need. So I could probably go and remove those

    90 MB shouldn't be a problem.

    What can be a problem:
    • You're using wireless
    • Your basic internet is slow
    • You've tampered with your XML in some way
Given that it's timing out I'm think it's probably bullet one or two.
I'll see if I can take a look at that

@ADSentertainment That would probably be good. ;) I would still take @SaladStraightShooters advice though.
