How Do I Make Fall Damage?

Almost every platform game has some form of fall damage. How would I recreate that in GameSalad? I'm thinking along the lines of "If self.linearvelocity.y > X then when player collides with ground change game.lives to game.lives - X". Am I right?

you can use your Y velocity, but more likely, you want to use distance fell. this thread is useless and needs to be deleted. here is a proper answer or two
