iphone developer program (how to)

Well, my company was officially made an iphone developer yesterday! woohoo!

I downloaded Apple's help document (52 pages! Get a printer!) and setting up a team, along with giving access to certain iphones/ipods through their unique id was pretty easy.

The rest... not so easy, I'm struggling to understand what has to be done - certificates I get, provisioning... it winds me up, and it doesn't help that the documentation is really out of date.

Luckily, I have an ipod touch AND a 3GS, so I can experiment with it with just the ipod.

But the point of this post is really to ask for help from anyone that's already enrolled and has gone through the process.

Can anyone write up a simple 'how to' doc to show, with pics, how to get through the process?

I think it would help a GREAT many people on here, and ease frustrations.

While I understand it isn't GS's place to provide this kind of info that Apple already provides (though as I said, the docs are out of date), when you come round to writing up the tutorial docs for getting a GS game distributed, could you PLEASE bear in mind the following:

*Write it as though the person you're writing for knows nothing. Don't assume they have some arcane knowledge you might yourself possess!

*Include lots of images showing EXACTLY what has to be done.

*Tell us precisely what we have to have had done to get to the point of converting an iphone game. I mean, give details. Don't just say 'make sure your certificates are ok' - provide links and/or images and info

*Condense the doc into bullet points so we have a quick reference.

*Write it as though the person you're writing for knows nothing (did I mention this one?)

Hope that helps!

I've went through the process and have several apps already in the store. I agree though, their documentation was (and probably still is) pretty lacking in terms of how to get through the whole certificate, distribution profile, public/private keys, etc, in an easy to follow step by step format.

At this point, it's been nearly a year since I set myself up, so I don't recall the step by step directions. Using only their documentation, I was however able to eventually work my way through it.

Nowadays, for any help i need, I use www.iphonedevsdk.com. It's a fantastic resource full of helpful people.
