Curious about the income coming from Gamesalad games. Also how much time did the game take you, did you have help, etc.
Thanks

Edit: you can just say a rounded figure, i.e (small, big, less than $100, more than $2) anything

These threads are a somewhat regular feature of the forums. In most cases, they don't generate any specifics. I think people are hesitant to share that type of information. I'm not trying to dissuade people from sharing... I'd like to know, too, but don't expect much.

I was raised that another mans money is none of your dang business. Personally I find it extremely rude to even ask this as an opened ended question to litterally everyone you don't know. I mean if you really gotta know then make some friends and ask them privately. I would not post publicly how much I have made wether its a dollar or 5 million dollars.

You wouldn't just walk up and ask random people private !@#$% about thier lives would you? So what makes this community any different?

More than nothing, less than something.

If your interested, there are many people who show off thier graphs of sales and revenues, I find heaps and it easier and more polite to use the information already provided then to ask.

    My stats,
    From a game (PC) : $$$$

    From an app: -$ (neg)

I've made several thousand off many games. It's constant work on the computer, you have to be clever to keep the money in. the competition is growing . One guy can make an app and make a few dollars another could guy could buy a house.

Without going into specifics.... I worked really hard on my game, spent hours a day, released the game onto the app store and two weeks later I bought a house.

It was gingerbread and cost £1.42p reduced from £5.99p

@tenrdrmer I was raised with the same manners. I was also taught that it is rude to ask a person about money. Manners and morals are the foundation of any culture.

Wow - such Incredibly idiocy in this thread!

To the OP - it is a valid question, and one that if people didn't respond so pathetically could open a valid discussion that would glean some useful stats of app sales expectations.

As a forward thinking, modern game development studio I believe sharing data benefits us all.

We released two iOS apps last year - and in total I think we made about $700. VERY disappointing but we shall be trying again in a few weeks.

We have been working on PSP Minis and PSM mainly recently, and they earn much more revenue in general, but it tends to plateau out at a few thousand per title for even the best selling titles so you certainly wouldn't buy a house.

Are you joking me? Is this thread not a little intrusive?

    .
Your right that is a valid question and could open a valid discussion, but since there are about 50 other threads asking the same question. This thread was not really nesscerary.

Plus you really shouldn't ask about the money. You wouldn't go up to some random person on the street and ask how much money they made last year. same rule applies here. If you want to ask how many downloads did you have last year, I'm sure that would be fine.

@richicon it maybe a valid question but with a 'valid' search you'd find lots of threads like these with more detailed answers. People are just a bit fed up or find it a bit rude to ask how much someone has made, thats why you get the 'pathetic' responses!
