Help with images on game salad

Hey everyone, I'm new to game salad. I was looking through the templates when I realised that when you drag the background actor of a template into the scene they are always massive and take up the screen and don't blur. I then tried importing different size png files to my actors to change there image and make them the background of a game I need to make but when I drag my 'background actor' onto the actual game screen they are tiny and when I enlarge them they go blurry. I tried with a 2600x2600 res image and its still small. Although when I open the png file on my desktop the image is huge. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1) images are maximum 2048x2048
2) PNG-24
3) 72dpi
You can use Preview that is built in to the Mac to change the dpi (ppi) Just double click on the image, and go to the menu up top, and choose "Tools" and then choose "Change Size" and in there you can change the dpi.
