Paid long term gig- social networking

Hey all. I have a non GS specific question for you all. Hopefully that's okay to do. Apologies if its not.

I'm looking to get into the social network business and i'm looking for people to help out (paid). I obviously need programmers who have done this before. If you don't posess those skills but can point me in a direction- that would also be greatly appreciated. This is a big project that looks to potentially have large backers on. So i'm looking for the real deal. Being in or around the NY area is also a plus (but not exactly a necessity).
You can also private message me if you're interested or have information. Thanks!

    @anatomyofdreams

    I myself am far from the social networking business, but I do know that @GSHelper is making a standalone social networking app; maybe he could give you some assistance :/

    If I am to understand this correctly, you are looking for a programmer to help you build a new social network?

    @chakku thank you!
    @shmirlywhirl yes i'm looking for either people to help and or people to help point me in a helpful direction. Unfortunately i can't go into details in this forum post, but i can say that the project is not some small project. It has backers. I just want to be clear that i'm not some delusional guy who thought it'd be fun to start a social network type thing out of the blue haha.
    The backers look to want to hire out a company that does this. I want to see if i can assemble a small team instead (at least give it a shot). I figure i could try recruiting out of colleges etc.

    So anyways, yes. I'm looking for programmers and or even just some help to point me in a direction. Help or suggestions would be really appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Ah, I didn't want to imply you weren't making a serious proposal.

    Unfortunatly right now I'm busy with my own things so I can't offer my services. But I will second GSHelper 's nomination.

    Good luck with your project. Maybe it will get me interested in the social network scene again.

    @shmirlywhirl apologies if it came across that I was assuming anything. All is well here. No harsh feelings or anything :) I appreciate the interest. And thanks for the recommendation as well!
