Hey everybody, I ended getting GameSalad less then 3 weeks ago. It was originally going to learn ios and had my objective C books and tutorials all ready. Then I some how stumbled across game salad. I wasn't really thinking of games for app concepts but I saw the Doc Indie game and was inspired. Then I found GameSalad and I figured I had some time, so why not try it out for a few hours.

Having a design background and understanding the concepts around coding. I picked it up fast. After a few days i realized i could actually build my own platform. I ended up going crazy, since i freelance i dropped everything and just dived in. After 2 weeks i have a platform game nearly done. Im asking friends now to help me test.

Touching up the art work and adding the story to the game now. This is awesome! I added tons of features to the game and looking back I am amazed how much I managed to get done.

The game has 20 HUGE side scrolling levels and 8 bosses, bosses that change size and have life bars.

4 different worlds with 4 styles of platform jump puzzles.

The part i like most is i used a custom platform engine opposed to the one in the template.

I'm hoping to have it submitted to apple for review in the new 3 days.

Trying to figure out the launch strategy, I want to launch as a 99 cent game then change it to free with IAP to unlock continue and saves after 3 months and I'll add the usual platform IAP's like level skip and unlock all levels.

I've had so many projects go no where, its nice to be in control and just get one done finally!

It's kinda surreal! lol I'll produce a game in less then a month!

    Welcome to gamesalad.

    Looks like a cool game.

Also would like to add, that you cannot include IAP. As only pro members can use those. Just so you know from the start.

Im actually thinking of going pro. How do you like it? does going Pro make a big difference?

Well I would say yes in my opinion, it gives you more control over your game. From ads to Game Center. To publishing on different platforms nook, amazon and play stores. Also a couple other things. So I would say yes it's worth it.

Artwork looks great LucidFuel. If you want to add the pro features (http://gamesalad.com/creator/pricing) to you game like mounted88 says it's worth it going pro.

I think i should as well. I read here that reviewers dismiss games with the game salad screen.

and Jamie_c i watched your tutorials to learn how to use Gamesalad, thanks for the videos they helped a lot!

Ya i couldn't have done some parts with out you. I may not have used it exactly in the end, but understanding the principles helped me understand what i should do to make what i wanted to do to work.
