Developer Licence is required to maintain your apps on the store

My Dev licence runs out soon and I didn't realise that all your apps get taken off the app store if you don't renew it.
I thought once your app was on the store thats it, it would be there for good.
Am I the only one who thought that?
Could someone explain what happens when you renew it, does all your provisional profiles update or do you have to update them manually?
Any info on this would be appreciated.

I never thought about this either... I figured you just needed it to publish apps... Crud.

When you get a new license, all your provision profiles are good for what's already published.

If you want to do a future update to a app, you have to renew the provision profile in the member center. Only thing you have to do is redownload your certificate on your computer and reinstall in your keychain.

    Hope this helps.

If you dont renew your license, all your apps will be removed. After 3 months you will get paid the rest owed. You can re-instate with a months grace period - if you decide to renew you dont have to do anything other then pay the 99$

I renewed my IOS Dev License and I keep getting notifications on my phone saying my provisional profiles are expiring in 4 days.
In Xcode Organizer it shows several profiles expire soon which seem to be distribution profiles. Next to them it says renew but its not letting me, its showing an error:

There are no current devices on this team matching the provided device IDs.
There are no current certificates on this team matching the provided certificate IDs.

I looked at the Dev Center and my Certificates expire on the 15th.
It doesn't show anything about my new year License.

When I view my account details It shows that my Dev licence runs out may 15th 2014.

So do I have to do anything? Create a new Key chain or update my profiles.
I have a few apps live which are using these profiles that expire soon and I dont want them to come off.
Or will the Certificates and profiles automatically update?

I would appreciate if someone that has had a Dev License for more than a year can help

because when you renew you also have to re issue all of your certificates and re-assign them to your provisioning profiles. The distribution ones won't matter until you want to send an update though. once they are on the app store they are good as long as your account is current.
