I want to design games and cartoons and stuff ,Design vectors all that stuff and im wondering what tablet would be best to get ? , is the intuos yo advanced?
@Jordeyy If you don't mind spending the extra money you need to go with the Wacom Intuos 4 or 5. I have used both the bamboo and Intuos and I LOVE the Intuos. I use to have the Intuos 4 then got a chance to try out the 5 and liked that one even more and that is what I currently use for everything! I would recommend the medium size as well! You won't regret it. You won't be as pleased with the bamboo compared to the Intuos.
Anything thats not a mouse will be helpful. You can probably buy something cheap if you only plan to use it for vector art.
I have an Intous 3, and its really great, but takes time to get used to. The newer models looks better and have radial menu function you can assign to a button (this is only a software thing, and I feel its a bit unfair that Wacom excludes this function on older tablets). I've had mine for 7 years, and I don't think I have to replace it anytime soon. So Wacom is pricey, but is also top quality.
@dhondon if I am only going to be doing vector arts and stuff for games ; I'm not doing any realistic people or anything and its my first tablet ever so would it better to get the bamboo tablet cause the intuous will be do advanced and difficult for me ? I'm not a drawer I can just draw characters and stuff not people or realism ?
@Jordeyy hey.. i just bought the intuos5 medium after weeks of head scratching. I was also caught up with the idea of buying a bamboo, but then went against it.
To tell u the experience, m a vector fan, and a tablet will speed you up, and an intuos will put you on the max mode. Its razor sharp in performance and i've also begun on raster stuff after using it.
The quality you'll get out of intuos is way ahead than a bamboo. If you want to buy a tool, save and go for the best. Intuos5 is the best you can get in the market. I bought a medium, cos of my own working style. Don't go for large if you going to be doing vector stuff most of the time. Medium is more than sufficient.
Plus go for a Touch model (I bought the one without touch) . I use the Magic trackpad and m used to the idea of using it. But when working with the tablet, u need to keep going back to the trackpad for various reasons, and that just kills the momentum.
I would plus for Intuos5 touch medium. Look at it as an investment that speeds up quality and production.
@kinzua I was thinking of either the intuos 3 or the bamboo 470 because I know someone selling an intuos 3 so which is better do you think , the bamboo 470 for £40. Or the intuos 3 for £90 ?
