Ideas Please

Hello, I need to create a basic game for a school project. Im blank on ideas and I am not experienced with game salad, I could make a game about as advanced or a little more advanced than space invaders. I can't really make a shooter game because the main idea is that the game will teach you something like environmental or to not fight or have wars or ruin our planet. Please suggest some ideas below. I am also having trouble with the graphics. I don't want to steal from google images so I try to make my own but I have no good FREE program. Although I'm mainly focusing on the idea of the game, it would be nice if you could suggest a program or whatever for the graphics. Thanks!

    Try inkscape it's great and it's free :)

    Making your own graphics is always preferable, but there are free graphic sites including http://clker.com and http://opengameart.org. *You'll need to read the license agreements to make sure you can use them.
