@wpaten Thats not terribly long. 1/2 the time of @Braydon_SFX 's longest but still a considerable amount of time! Mine would have to be about 2 months. EDIT: Just saw your post @Braydon_SFX and yes, I remember those days of learning the basics of GS. Still learning some stuff though. Like interpolate, and man I LOVE it.
@wpaten Haha much better! ) The game I was working on (City Destroy) took me (in real life, not what it felt like ) 2 months because of trying to learn the more advanced things behind GS. I really feel like I'm getting pretty good at it though. My latest accomplishment would be the fall damage system I designed. It is still buggy but I'm working on it. (I hope that won't be my longest project!)
@viking Yup, applying polish is never a bad thing, but getting the core of the game is always hardest isn't it?

That's a matter of opinion. I can get the core gameplay down in a matter of hours for my apps or project help files. Polish and some minor improvements is what bogs me down.
@Braydon_SFX Really? I've never had a problem with polish or bug fixes (maybe I'm not doing it right!) but the core "engine" is always my largest time sucker.

Longest games have been Running Wild and BloodFlow at 3 months (are soon to be released game will also be approx 3 months) but I also make templates along side full releases so...
@DeepBlueApps.com That is quite understandable but I don't see how you guys (@Braydon_SFX , @TShirtBooth etc.) do it! You're amazing! @charliehgreen Don't feel too bad! I do all of my apps myself. (Which is probably why the artwork stinks :P ) Edit: @Chakku Well, if you play Minecraft then you may like to know my username is Knight_Eccentric so I transferred my position. :P You can even ask your serf, @SnapFireStudios
@Chakku Haha wow, I must be the oddball and not you guys! P.S Are those hyenas gone yet?
That makes for two oddballs! It took me forever to get the main gameplay mechanic right, then the polish came with ease. Now I'm running into an issue that requires me to jump back into the core... If I don't come out alive, find me a wife and tell her I love her! [/unknown ice age reference]
As for how long I've been working on my game, about 4 months, but that includes starting with gamesalad for the first time. All I theoretically need to do is make levels. (Which is a challenge in itself)
@JarrenH Will do my good sir! Haha I know how you feel though. With my first game Meteor Man, I didn't know about booleans so for almost everything true and false I used integers instead. When I finally discovered booleans it was a nightmare trying to re-code everything. Ugh. I'm glad its over. #:-S

You do realize he's just kidding, right? :P

I'm at 6 months for my first game and I plan to release it in a month. Now I'm just doing a little polish and making sure things are not breaking.
I also work full time and doing it all alone, so it's harder
But nothing I'm proud of
Darren.
Knight?? Last I checked you were a serf, you can only go up from there
