Gamesalad is apparently very easy. I just downloaded Xcode and have absolutely no idea what I'm doing! Can anyone give me some equivalents to Xcode from Gamesalad? Or at least tell me how to get started?
Thanks,

MSEagle2 Posts: 98xCode is a whole different beast. I would suggest you first start doing some basic tutorials (just google for beginner xcode tutorials). If you don't know how to code you will definitely want to start with learning that first lol.

Team6Labs Posts: 541I right with you. I have started gradually learning some objective c so i can starrt making nongame apps. I recommend looking at the apple objective c tutorials, watching the stanford courses on itunes u, and getting an objective c book. Once you understand objective c, the rest of xcode becomes easier to understand.

The_Gamesalad_Guru Posts: 9,922I can extrapolate why he wants to learn Object C he wants control over his code and access to more features, that's a no brainer. I do know javascript as I use unity but I know nothing about C coding so I gave him what info I had you need to learn code to use Xcode and it's nothing at all like using GS. No offense Ben if you want to ask that question do it instead of lecturing us about how we decide to give out info on the forums. This attitude around here coming from particular people, it seems to trend to the youthful among us, is getting old. I think there is quite clearly a generation misunderstanding around here. Not trying to dis young people, it's just that life experience has a way of changing one's perspective on life. Having loved and lost, having tried and failed, having succeeded, having be betrayed, ripped off or taken advantage of, seeing the world for what it is through experience and learning to navigate the obstacles it presents changes you. We all want a utopian fantasy but it doesn't exists and those of us who are more experienced and have some or a lot of gray tend to give the real perspective and it's not always pretty. This prepares one for life. Being sheltered from reality sets one up for disappointment and discouragement. At least when you know what's coming you are ready to cope with it. Some of the younger folks may yet not understand what I just said but one day you'll look back and say huh that makes sense.

SolarPepperStudios Posts: 754@FryingBaconStudios Amen. I'm only 15 but I agree 100% (even if it applies to me, which it probably does). Anyways back to the point: @Grace252525 I'm learning Xcode right now too and I will tell you, it will be a bumpy ride. My suggestion to get started: Try making a simple "Hello World" iPhone app and after that, try to get a button to open a webpage.
