How to Use Actor One Attributes make Actor Two React?

The title might be confusing but I am having trouble trying to figure out how to make a button that, once touched on an iphone/ipad, it makes a different actor do something. For example - How do you make a right arrow button make the character move to the right? I know there is a "add group" button, but I don't know how to use it... Please help!
