Are there a way to customise/upgrade certain part of an actor without creating another animation?!?

Hi

I was wondering,

Say I have a robot, and as you advance the game you can purchase a new arm or leg or guns attachments.

If the robot has an animation. My question is 'Will I need to created every possible options and animate them all?'
eg. animation 1- Just new Arms(Blue)
animation 2- Just new arms (red)
animation 3- Just new legs (red)
animation 4- Just new legs (blue)
animation 5- Just new arms/legs (red) etc.................

If that makes sense?

Are there a way where you can some how assembled 5 actors and move as one actor.

Cheers

This would be hands-down easier if GS had joints. (which I know they are planning to add, but until then...) You can create a separate actor for each part, (arms/legs/head) and constrain their positions to the actor that is doing all the physics. That way you can create animations for each part and they will move together.

If you make the images all the same size you can simply do a change image you could also include the new constrain conditions. Just wrap it in a rule that triggers each one based on the condition of an attribute or attributes.
