Switching to In App purchase - what will happen to those who already paid

SinSquidSinSquid Member, PRO Posts: 135
Hi

I have a game thats selling around 10 copies a day. Actually pretty good, but im considering to make the first 10 levels free, and then pay $0.99 to open the other 35 levels.

But how will this effect those who already bought the game? will they have to pay again to open the levels, or are there some way to make sure they will continue to have the full game after updating it?

Im sorry if this was asked before, but I couldn`t find the answer anywhere.

Great to see that you care about your payed costomers!
You have few options, here are some:
    1) make a new app call it ״my game name free" or something and have both apps in the store .

    2) make an new update(before you desired change update) simply for tracking who already bought your game, in this update you simply change and save a Boolean, then in the next update (the one with the change to free) you can tell who bought it and open content accordantly.

    3) MY FAVORITE OPTION
If you have any integer that is 0 when the game is opening the first time, like a score, you can then immidiatly detect if someone already played the game or this is the first time, make this check for the first time only, meaning the next time the user open your game this check will not fire anymore,
This way you can tell who already played it before and open content for them, and who is using it the first time and keep the content locked.
