Check out my app for detecting paranormal activity! I'm a skeptic, but I thought it'd be fun to create an app based upon real equipment used in psi labs.

I have a video that explains it here: http://j.mp/ghostvisionvideo

Maybe this could help you market this, as some people are not aware that Princeton has two research projects, Global Consciousness Project( http://noosphere.princeton.edu/ ) and the PEAR project( http://www.princeton.edu/~pear/ ) While PEAR was shut down a few years ago, NOOSPHERE is still collecting data from random number generators positioned around the world, and they frequently report on the RNG anomalies.

The theory is that significant events can disrupt random number generation...and they have 2 decades of "proof" that this theory is likely correct. Spooky :)

    Embed video? how?

The PEAR study was very, very flawed. Email me and I can tell you offline some of the problems.

I am considerably skeptic of both of princeton's projects...but its still something i'd like to believe was true...its simply too creepy to completely write it off. And in terms of the casual iphone/touch user, i thought it'd be worth mentioning in the app description.

I figure this is an app I can truely chime in on. I took 633Y3XHFAT77. http://www.parachasers.com and maker of Ghost Words http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ghost-words/id354092793?mt=8. I like your touch idea however I'm not happy with your use of random generators for the other items. My dislike is not because of competition with my app but because your app will lead newbies in the paranormal field in the wrong direction of belief. My app uses no random generators nor timers, ( No Tricks period) and no chance of randomness actually creating words or pictures or images that poeples minds will matrix to represent something as in looking at cloud shapes. I give you thumbs up for design and effort and wish GS could give me more use of things like the mic and compass so I could go further with my app but that's another story. Most of us paranormal people are skeptics but I feel the majority of your app is misleading for those of us that take the field seriously.

I spent six years as the lead investigator for the James Randi Million-Dollar Challenge. I was a full-time investigator of paranormal and unusual claims and helped design experimental procedures for laboratories and research institutions looking into these kinds of claims.

My app is meant as a fun way of watching how random information can form pseudo-patterns. That said, it's far less prone to the kind of false positives that EVP and EMF equipment give make-believe ghost hunters. The tools in the app are all based on actual research methods used in places like PEAR as mentioned and others.

In my opinion it's all noise unless you have some kind of proper control.

Here's the YouTube (I re-uploaded it and it didn't have the syncing problem this time)

Ahh I see it was made with GS. I reviewed it as Jerri in Richmond.
    Great job.
    Thanks again!

I agree, make believe ghost hunters can take all of this the wrong way. A voice from nowhere however is something be it stray signal or spirit and EMF detectors are more often than not used in the wrong fashion. Randomness applied to the paranormal is nothing but false positives. It's nice to know you worked with James and I'm sure you heard numerous stories about how he backed out of meeting with legitimate people that wanted some of his million dollar challenge. I could go on but I'll stop! I appreciate the apps opening statement of randomness and will give it a proper review. The app is definitely useful in showing how peoples minds try to make sense of randomness and again I like the touch response.

    Oh give me a break.

Both apps appear nothing more than a high tech "ouija board" to 99.9% of app store purchasers, and that is what will bring profit to both of you who listed premium apps in the app store. Nobody cares what inputs it uses. Best of luck to both of you.

I beg to differ space needle! I get questions about paranormal apps on a daily basis. They want to know if the apps are random or total fakes due to timed or timer responses. The ones that are really into the paranormal do care and often insulted by fakery. Sure there are always going to be those that buy for the scare and those that are just getting into the para field that would rather not be lead astray. You can check my Twitter to see some 280 plus followers of mine that are strictly paranormal and very serious.

I used 3LJ7TJHNXK4E and will post a review after checking it out. I've got another Ghost Radar app, so it will be interesting to compare.

    Thanks, Andrew!

I'm not sure I follow you Mr. Needle.
Sure, paranormal apps are usually listed in the entertainment category and some are more serious attempts at monitoring communication than others. It's an experimental field which makes any genuine tool valid for testing.
There are hundreds of paranormal investigation groups and thousands of individuals who take this very seriously. Thanks to them, a lot of progress has been made in the last decade or two.
If a tool is found to help corroborate claims then it will find its place as a team player on investigations.
Regardless as to whether this app is considered a toy or a tool, I'm pretty impressed with what he's done with Gamesalad and Andrew Mayne deserves respect for that.
