New GameSalad behaviours in the past 5 months?

Good evening world...

It's been a while since I've properly tackled a Gamesalad project. (I've made a few games over the years (one made the top 100 free itunes chart), and ran a failed Kickstarter campaign which was still fun and has led to some interesting opportunities http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/678002393/dark-asylum-0?ref=live).

Anyway... I think I'm back and ready to tackle a new idea with GameSalad... or at least tinker with the software and see how far I get in a new project.

Can someone summarise any cool new behaviours that have been made available in the past 5 months. I've been checking out the forum now and again to keep tabs on it but want to be sure I'm up todate. Most things I've read seem to be performance improvements rather than new abilities with game creation...

Where are we at with Tables now? (readable - writable)

I'm about to install the latest version and see what's changed... but any help would be great.

For those interested:
Check out my older titles, animation and some free gamesalad templates on my site http://www.stormystudio.com

See you around.

Jon

Sorry to hear the Dark Asylum campaign failed. Hard to say what exactly changed in 5 months. Tables are read and write now. Perhaps check the release notes, you can read what happened there.
What I know changed for the good is that we have codewizard next to SSS here on the forums. codewizard is doing a lot for GameSalad. We get an every week update now on what will be implemented on the long and short run.

    Good to have you back!

Hey Jon, I've just come back to GameSalad after a year away from it so I'm really interested to see what's posted here too. From what I can tell so far you're right it's mostly the same behaviors but with added performance, plus additional services like mobclix ads. Plus support for iPhone 5 resolution and cropping and letterboxing to deal with that.

Good to see another familiar face from back in the day!

Universal binaries has been the main big one lately. So prob best to start your new project in ipad size and have a few rules that adjust the camera for iphone players.

Ow, and we have universal apps now!

Also the new 'Make Game Top 100' behaviour is pretty useful.

I can't get it to work. I sent in a bug report already.

Cheers for the replies... universal binaries is a cool addition... I'll figure out how that works in a bit... I take it there's not much logic in making a Mac version first, then rework for a universal ipad/iphone version.... have people been getting any decent sales from the Mac App Store?

I'm gonna have to check out the 'Make Game Top 100' behaviour, no more time wasted trying to create original gameplay, artwork and marketing tactics... that'll save a tonne of time... Great stuff.

@codewizard (aka Stephen Nichols) is the new Vice President of engineering and only answers to the CEO. Google him he's got quite the resume.

The new "YOLO" behavior doesn't seem to be functioning properly either? Or is that to be expected?

Sorry it won't work because I've already submitted 100 games to make sure it works in all cases.

@stormystudio tables are read/write. There is the Change Table Value, Copy Table, Save Table, Add/Remove Row behaviors. Though I thought we had those for a while.

    Thanks CodeMonkey....

The table bits n bobs started getting implemented when I finished my last game, but I did'nt look at them a great deal since I was mid project.

Hopefully something awesome will come about once I get back into it... again...

That will explain why - for yet another week - ClickOnTheWhiteBoxToScoreAPoint™ has failed to break the top 100.
