Nightly Build Status...

Hi everyone...

Just a quick note to let you know that we've released the first round of nightly builds to line cooks and sous chefs for testing. Once they've given it the all-clear and we've finished up a few things on our end then we'll be able to push this out to all Pro users.

Exciting times are coming!

Don't get me wrong, I see the benefit of the nightly build process, and in time I'm sure it will accelerate the software's development. But the pessimist in me is worried that this will also lead to more bugs, incompatibilities, and the like.

I'll just need to have faith that the dev team knows what they are doing, and make sure I keep backups of all my files

I imagine they have setup nightly builds so you don't have to download them. It's easy to have two versions of GS and work off a copy of your project. One should have a time machine backup type system in place as this is vital in computer work.

Are the nightly build going to be just that- released every night? Or is it just a term for a more rapid release system (ie a couple of times per week)

Nightly builds are basically side or Alpha or test builds we now have access to. It's beta testing on steroids as instead of just testing with a limited number of linecooks et... Basically the whole pro community is becoming a beta tester. So you can have two versions of gamesalad on your system the official solid release and a pre release version to test out your game on to see if there are issues and can report them to GS so they can be fixed before they become official releases. Hope that makes it easy to understand.

Im fairly new to te Gamesalad forum this may have been answered, but is there nightly builds I can download to my Windows computer. I can only find mac nightly builds.

Hey chefs, just to let you know I have downloaded the nightly build 00.00.00.221 and noticed that either Alpha < 1 or Blending mode screen is not working as it should.
When I change the alpha of a white image with an effect to fade it out, it becomes darker.
Not same result I have on 0.10.4.1.

BTW RevMob works great! Are we getting RevMob for banner ads as well?

I believe in the latest builds how alpha is utilized has changed and they are looking at that (it was noted somewhere on release)
