Making an image move back and forth?

in Working with GS (Mac)
Can anyone help me with this please? I understand how to make an image scroll in the background but how would I make that image move say 1-2 inches to the right then 1-2 inches out of the other side? I want to do this with 2 images to create the appearance of moving.

    Constrain X position to AAA*sin(sell.Time*BBB)+CCC

    AAA = how far the actor ('image') will move back and forth.
    BBB = speed.
    CCC = the centre point of the move.

    Cheers guys Ill give this a go when I get home! I only want it moving left and right instead of looping around the x-axis so I'm assuming Socks method is a winner :)
